Case Study: Banyu Urip

The Banyu Urip oil field project is located in the border areas of Central Java (Cepu) and East Java (Bojonegoro) in Indonesia and is jointly operated by ExxonMobil Cepu, Ltd (EMCL) and PT Pertamina EP Cepu (PEPC). The EPC 1 contract is for the oil field's production processing facilities to be located in Bojonegoro, East Java. Since 2003, Airswift-Aztechno has been providing services to ExxonMobil and its subsidiary companies across all active locations through our global master service agreement.

EMCL needed to mobilize the commissioning workforce of the Banyu Urip project efficiently and compliantly. In addition, EMCL needed support with the management of the specialized and multi-cultural local and expatriate workforces. Throughout 2014 and 2015, EMCL recommended Airswift-Aztechno to their EPC 1 contractors, Tripata Engineers and Constructors, and Samsung Engineering to support the compliant and efficient mobilization of the commissioning workforce of the Banyu Urip project.

Airswift-Aztechno appointed a dedicated, single point of contact model to provide the following fully compliant services:

  • Relocation Services: Medical insurance, travel logistics, PPE & basic tooling, meet and greets, 24/7 local emergency support, catering, accommodation
  • Global Immigration: Immigration support, local employment
  • Global Employment Outsourcing: Home and host  country tax remittance, client policy compliance

Airswift-Aztechno's pragmatic approach helped manage the pressures of ramping up and ramping down for project schedules. The high-quality processes and prior experience supporting projects before, during, and after peak milestones ensure the scalability of the service delivery.

More than 200 people were hired over a six-month period, with 61 percent local employees.
